Description of Organization:
Dedicated to a mission of improving the quality of life for people with disabilities through computer training, Donka, Inc. has served DuPage County since 1987. Donka, Inc. is the only no-cost computer training program in the Chicagoland area that teaches students to use computers to read, write, continue an education, or advance skills needed for the workplace. Access to individualized, no-cost training is essential for the disabled population that demonstrates special accessibility requirements and low income levels.
Description of Service Learner Role:
The service learner will work with graduates of the program during free time to assist in using the computer for internet search, email, writing letters, etc.
Required minimum of two hours per week.
Service Learners must be friendly and possess the ability to work with people with physical or visual disabilities.
