Description of Organization:

It is the mission of the Humanitarian Service Project to alleviate the pain and suffering that poverty brings to needy seniors and children living in DuPage and Kane Counties, IL without distinction of gender, race, creed, caste, or color. This is done through their four programs: The Christmas Offering, The Senior Citizen Project, The Children's Birthday Project, and Feed the Kids Program.

Description of Service Learner Role:

Assist with sorting and shelving non-perishable food for the Senior Citizen Project and Feed the Kids project; assisting with the School Supply program; seasonally organizing gifts for the Christmas Offering Project; assisting with preparing birthday packages for the Children's Birthday Project; assisting with front desk procedures; contacting clients and supporters to determine client needs and fundraising opportunities.
