Office Hours: Monday through Friday, from 8:30am to 4:30pm.
Summer Season with buildings open for all public tours: Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 4pm and Sunday from 1 to 4pm.
Winter Season with buildings open for school tours only (no public access): Tuesday through Friday from 10am to 4pm.
Special events as scheduled throughout the year according to the museum calendar.
Description of Organization:
Naper Settlement is outdoor history museum that collects and interprets the history of Naperville. The Museum's mission is to create community by connecting visitors to Naperville's history through engaging, unique experiences. Naper Settlement includes; 30 historic structures on 12 acres, over 50,000 objects in the collection, a separate collections management facility, six large annual events, and welcomes over 118,000 visitors. Naper Settlement is also nationally accredited by the American Alliance of Museums.
Description of Service Learner Role:
Roles included education curriculum, interpretive programming, event management, data management, administrative services, horticulture, collections management, marketing, and much more.
Skills required for volunteers include being a good communicator, team worker, arrive punctually and be committed to follow through on the agreed upon project. Other skills may be required depending on the project.
