Office Hours: Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Summer Season: April 1 - Oct. 31 buildings open for public tours Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.
Winter Season: Nov. 1 - May 31 buildings open for school tours only (no public access): Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Volunteers are needed for special events throughout the year.
Oktoberfest - Friday through Sunday - first week of October

5 to 10 p.m. - Volunteer actors - Groups are invited
Volunteer actors wear costumes and participate in various vignettes and feature such as the Dracula's Lair, Mummy's Tomb, or the Zombie Maze.
6 to 10 p.m. - Operations
Operations volunteers are non-costumed and assist with greeting visitors, giving directions or monitoring lines.
Civil War Days - Saturday and Sunday last week of May
9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 12:30 to 4 p.m.
Positions available include ticket sales, greeter, food sales and more.
Naper Nights Summer Community Concert Series
4:30 to 9:45 p.m.
Positions available include selling food and raffle tickets, ID/bag check, help with the trivia contest, greeter and more.
Description of Organization:
Naper Settlement is an outdoor history museum that collects and interprets the history of Naperville. The Museum's mission is to create community by connecting visitors to Naperville's history through engaging and unique experiences. Naper Settlement includes 30 historic structures on 12 acres, over 50,000 objects in the collection, a separate collections management facility, six large annual events, and welcomes over 118,000 visitors. Naper Settlement is also nationally accredited by the American Alliance of Museums.
Description of Service Learner Role:
Roles included education curriculum, interpretive programming, event management, data management, administrative services, horticulture, collections management, marketing, and much more.
Skills required for volunteers include being a good communicator, team worker, arrive punctually and be committed to follow through on the agreed upon project. Other skills may be required depending on the project.
