Description of Organization:
The Ray Graham Association is dedicated to the full participation of all people with developmental disabilities in a quality life by providing leadership that supports the accomplishments of individuals, strengthens families and inspires community involvement. Ray Graham Association for People with Disabilities provides services and support to over 2,300 children and adults with disabilities in DuPage County, Illinois. The organization provides a wide array of services including Community Learning Centers (day programs), Community Supported Employment, Various Residential Options, Family Supports, and Recreation.
Description of Service Learner Role:
Service Learning is offered in the Community Learning Center programs. These programs are located in the following communities: Lombard, Downers Grove, Bloomingdale, and Lisle (this list is not a comprehensive list of all community learning center programs). Service Learners will participate in the daily activities of the program location. This will include assisting with Life Skills classes, supporting people with recreational activities, and assisting people with disabilities to complete work activities. The Service Learner may have the opportunity to complete some basic data collection forms used to document the progress of people served.
