COD Cares Fall Semester Day of Action and Cupcake Social

Calling all event volunteers!  Email CODCares@cod.edu if you are interested in helping facilitate activities. 

College of DuPage is responding to the needs of our community and is hosting the Fall Semester Day of Action on Tuesday, September 16th in the Student Services Center (SSC) Atrium from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. 

Stop by and take part in worthwhile hands-on activities that will benefit community-based organizations.  Make sure to grab a free cupcake as you make your way to the Donation Stations!

Sign up to be a COD Action Hero and receive an exclusive t-shirt and a COD "Cares Package" filled with fun goodies!

Cupcake Social

Enjoy a FREE gourmet treat from Cupcakes for Courage, a unique local bakery owned by a COD alumna.  Cupcakes for Courage shares the COD Cares mission of giving back to the community by donating a portion of their proceeds to cancer research.  These yummy, five-star goodies do more than feed your sweet tooth...they feed your soul!

Action Stations

  • Re-purpose 2013 COD Laps with the Chaps 5K t-shirts into drawstring tote bags
    • Help us decide where to send the finished products! The first five DuPage County organization names emailed to CODCares@cod.edu will be given approximately 30 bags each.  The winning organizations will be announced on Monday, September 8th.
  • Assemble a "Birthday Party in a Bag" for Humanitarian Service Project
  • Show your gratitude and write a note to military personnel (Operation Support Our Troops)

Donation Stations

  • Holiday decorations for local community service centers
    • Help us decide where to send the donations! The first two DuPage County organization names emailed to CODCares@cod.edu will split the box! The winning organizations will be announced on Monday, September 8th.
  • Children's Halloween costumes for the Western Auxiliary Hephzibah Children's Association
  • Clothing of all sizes for Salvation Army
  • Plastic grocery bags to be crocheted into mats for homeless veterans by the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post #5917
