Schedule for Counseling & Advising

Summer 2015

Students wishing to meet with a Counselor or Advisor should contact the Counseling & Advising Front Desk (see Contact Information below).

During the summer, most students will be seen in the Counseling & Advising Educational Planning Center on the Main Campus.  Entrance into the Educational Planning Center usually closes approximately one hour prior to the office closing.

First Time College Student

As a student enrolling for the first time (or less than 15 semester hours) in college, you will attend a New Student Information Session.

Prior to attending students must have either:

  • Completed the COMPASS placement testing (Reading & Writing)
  • Have submitted ACT results or transcript showing a total composite of 20 or higher before attending.

This session will give you an overview of how to develop your educational plan. Additional information is provided about scheduling, key advising tools and success strategies for your first semester. Students must be pre-registered; please contact Counseling & Advising to sign up. All degree or certificate seeking students must attend the New Student Information Session prior to meeting with a Counselor. After the session, students have the option to use the tools presented on their own, or to meet with a Counselor for additional guidance.

Transfer Student to College of DuPage

If you are a student transferring into College of DuPage with more than fifteen (15) semester hours, you will meet with a Student Success Counselor. A copy of your transcript(s) is(are) required for your visit (they can be unofficial student copies).

Continuing Students in Good Standing

Continuing students in good academic standing (GPA 2.0 and above) will be served on a walk-in basis in the Counseling & Advising Educational Planning Center. Students should bring a copy of their Degree Audit for their advising session.

Students with Academic Holds (Academic Difficulty)

These services are available in a group format only; please contact Counseling & Advising office in advance to attend, as students must be pre-registered.
