Graphic Designer

Graphic Designers plan, analyze, and create visual solutions to communications problems. They decide the most effective way of getting a message across in print, electronic, and film media using a variety of methods such as color, type, illustration, paper, photography, animation, and various techniques.

The Graphic Design program at College of DuPage is designed to take YOU through this creative process — realizing your ideas using the latest industry standard software titles. You'll learn to develop and present great design using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign — and you'll be learning with the only faculty at College of DuPage with academic and professional credentials in the graphic design field.

Illustrator

llustrators create images for books, magazines, newspapers, products and packaging, and other various publications. As cartoonists, illustrators draw comics and graphic novels, political, advertising, social and sports cartoons. In addition to traditional media, illustrators work in digital format, creating illustrations on the computer.

You'll learn to develop professional-quality illustrations using conventional media as well as Adobe Creative Suite software (Illustrator, InDesign, AcrobatPro, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Flash) — and you'll be learning with the only faculty at College of DuPage with academic and professional credentials in the illustration field.

Web Designer

Web Designers develop designs for Web sites, interactive media, and interactive design for handheld devices, multimedia projects and even the credits that appear before and after television programs and movies.

Art Director

Art Directors develop advertising concepts for periodicals, newspapers, and other printed or digital media. They decide how best to present the information visually, so that it is eye catching, appealing, and organized. Art Directors decide which images or artwork to use and they oversee the layout/design of the printed or electronic material.
