On Dec. 15, the Board of Trustees voted
to eliminate the Naperville Regional Center Expansion project. In
lieu of the expansion of the Naperville Regional Center at 75th Street,
C.O.D. is currently developing plans for new, shared facilities with
Neuqua Valley High School in Indian Prairie School District 204.Program requirements and budget review
is continuing.
Review of program requirements and space
needs is continuing, along with the project budget, which is still
in progress. Upon completion, schematic design work will continue.Currently, programming requirements and

Schematic design drawings are currently
being developed by OWP/P.
Program verification is currently on going.
The project is currently at approximately 50 percent through
the programming phase. The architect has met with each user group
to identify all of the needs for the expanded space. Programming is
still ongoing, with tours of local mecomtronics labs scheduled to
occur.
On March 17, the Board of Trustees awarded the contract for A/E services
to OWP/P Architects for the design of the Naperville Regional Center
Expansion. The verification of the programs included within this project
will be the first item to be addressed in the design phase.
A/E qualification submissions were due on Feb. 17. A/E interviews
will occur on March 9. An A/E recommendation will be presented to
the Board of Trustees for approval at the March Board meeting. Design
of the Naperville Regional Center Expansion is planned to begin in
late March.
The building committee, along
with Facilities Planning and Construction, is currently developing
a detailed program statement for this project. Once the building program
is finalized and approved, an architect will be selected to design
the building.
