Who is elegible?
Students who are enrolled in Graphic Arts Technology / Graphic Communications coursework at:
College of DuPage District #502 Parnership High Schools for Dual Credit

What categories can be entered?

Digital Graphics and Imaging
This area will be divided into two sub-classifications: Work primarily using Adobe Photoshop or photo materials (over 60%) and those primarily using Adobe Illustrator. Students' own digitally constructed images or illustrations will be included in the above sub-classifications. The samples will be scrutinized for technical skill, layout difficulty, the use of graphics, typography, and presentation. A mounted color composite output for each entry is to be submitted, and a CD with all electronic layered files and/or packaged files.

Digital Publishing
This area will be divided into two subclassifications: single color and color. These entries include documents, publications, and other products that have used computer systems to assemble text and/or graphics into a final presentation. The samples will be scrutinized for page layout difficulty, the use of graphics, typography, and presentation. Software must be categorized as a page-layout program such as: Adobe InDesign and/or QuarkXPress. The judges request that only proofs be submitted, no finished pieces are necessary. No Film, Digital Proofs only! A mounted color composite for each entry is to be submitted, and a CD with all electronic layered files and/or packaged files.

Press Operation
Work in this category may not be used in the Digital Publishing category, but artwork entered in Digital Graphic and Imaging category may be used. This area will be divided into two sub-classifications: Spot-Color Printing entries should be examples of printing on a single color press or duplicator, or two-color system set-up. Process Color Printing entries should be representative examples of four or more color process work on the press utilizing original images, royalty free images or clip art. A complete set of progressives for each entry in either category can be included on the mounted finished piece. This category does not allow for Digital Presswork, but Digital Printing may be submitted in the Speciality Printing Category.

Specialty Printing
This area will be divided into two sub-classifications: Screen Printing, Ink Jet/Sublimation. Work in this category may not be used in any other category. Multicolored entries and single color entries will be judged together. A mounted sample for each entry is to be submitted.

All entries must be submitted and received at College of DuPage,Graphic Arts Technology department, by April 1, 2012.
