Respiratory Care New Transfer Program for Concordia 3+1 B.A. Degree
By Robyn Johnson
Last fall, College of DuPage and Concordia University Chicago announced the addition of three new 3+1 educational agreements that enable students to earn Bachelor of Arts degrees in Healthcare Management, Sports & Recreation Management, and Visual Arts Administration from Concordia-Chicago at COD's Glen Ellyn campus.
Recently, COD and Concordia announced that the COD Respiratory Care A.A.S. degree will also serve as a new transfer program that provides a seamless pathway from the College's associate's degree to the B.A. degree in Healthcare Management from Concordia.
"We are pleased to offer students another option for earning a B.A. in Healthcare Management through our 3+1 program with Concordia University Chicago," said Dr. Jean V. Kartje, COD Vice President of Academic Affairs. "These programs have proven to be extremely popular with students, as they provide an opportunity to earn a bachelor's degree from partnering universities on our campus at a greatly reduced tuition rate."
Transfer programs for COD students and alumni now include Respiratory Care, Dental Hygiene and Management to earn a B.A. in Healthcare Management; Physical Education to earn a B.A. in Sports & Recreation Management; and Art and Graphic Design to earn a B.A. in Visual Arts Administration from Concordia University Chicago.
During the first three years of the COD/Concordia 3+1 programs, students complete between 90 to 98 credit hours (depending on the selected degree) of College of DuPage courses offered at COD's tuition rate. The fourth year, students complete an additional 32 credit hours of courses taught by Concordia professors at College of DuPage at a reduced Concordia tuition rate. To ensure successful program completion, students enrolled in the program also receive concurrent advising from COD and Concordia University.
