COD Celebrates National Transfer Week with Workshops and Transfer Fair Oct. 15 to 19

Learn about transfer processes and opportunities available at College of DuPage during National Transfer Student Week workshops and events held Oct. 15 to 19 at the College’s Glen Ellyn campus, 425 Fawell Blvd.
Held in the Student Services Center Atrium from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 19, the Transfer Fair will feature representatives from more than 40 colleges and universities, the fair will provide students the opportunity get the inside scoop on college transfer, network with experts and meet with representatives from COD and the College’s university and college partners. The fair also will feature a College of DuPage Alumni Panel from 11 a.m. to noon in the Student Services Center, Room 2201.
Preceding the fair, the College will host a Transfer Admissions panel discussion featuring representatives from COD’s top transfer institutions from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Oct. 19, in the Student Services Center, Room 2201. Participating institutions include University of Illinois Chicago, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, DePaul University, Elmhurst College, Northern Illinois University and North Central College.
Workshops during National Transfer Week include:
Transfer Research Monday: Oct. 15, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Participants will review important steps to transferring and learn to research transfer majors, colleges and universities.
Writing Tips for Success: Wednesday, Oct. 17, 10 to 11 a.m. Participants review best practices and tips for writing essays for admission and scholarship applications.
Financial Implications of Transfer: Wednesday, Oct. 17, 11 a.m. to noon. Participants learn the ins-and-outs of financial aid when transferring.
Transfer Planning/ Academic Advising: Wednesday, Oct. 17, 11 a.m. to noon; Thursday, Oct. 18, 11 a.m. to noon. Participants learn how to best prepare for transfer.
CareerCoach: Thursday, Oct. 18, 10 to 11 a.m. Participants explore career options, examine the outlook and job openings for their chosen career field and learn about starting and ending salaries.
