I chose College of DuPage because the school has a very supportive and active roll in student success. COD had a welcoming environment and I felt comfortable when on campus. Through all the Paralegal Club events and meeting guest speakers, it gave me a good sense of what I really want out of a career and the person I need to be to achieve that. I found a really supportive group of people. All of the teachers are amazing, and they really take an interest in your work.

“I had some wonderful professors who provided real-world scenarios and lessons that helped prepare me for the workforce. Many classes have paralegals come in as guest speakers, so don’t be afraid to ask questions. They have real-life experience as a paralegal and a different perspective than the attorneys.”

“A Paralegal Certificate was on my ‘bucket list’ since my 40s. When the opportunity for a grant came up, I researched many professions, and the legal profession was the only one I found that would value my prior management experience and my education. So the practical coincided with the passion.”

"The greatest lesson I took away from the program is the importance of the ethical rules that we discussed in every class. I also would advise that current students act like every day is a job interview and conduct themselves in a professional manner."

"When I initially learned I needed to come up with 120 hours of practicum hours, I was terrified because I was already working full-time, but I am so thankful that it was mandatory because it led me to such great accomplishments."
