The Bureau of Labor Statistic's Occupational Outlook Handbook (OOH) outlines the latest statistics in relation to job growth in the field of Surgical Technology.
According to the OOH, Surgical Technologists hold more than 84,000 jobs, and the profession is expected to continue a much faster than average growth rate through the year 2014. This is due in part to an increase in aging populations that subsequently raises the volume of necessary surgeries. Technological advances such as fiber optics and laser technology will also result in additional surgical procedures.
