Student Spotlight: Julie Belsanti
Major: Dental Hygiene
Julie Belsanti worked for American Airlines for 25 years before deciding to go back to college.
She entered a Dental Hygiene program at another school before transferring to College of DuPage in 2007. She was impressed by COD's reputation and its facility.
"The approachable and knowledgeable instructors are totally responsible for my success," she said.
After receiving her degree at COD, Belsanti earned her bachelor's degree in 2008 from Northern Arizona University and also passed the Illinois state board exams. Currently she works part-time in private practice and part-time as a clinical instructor in COD's Dental Hygiene program. She also is completing a master's degree program in Education with emphasis in Human Resources from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
"My career goal is to complete graduate school so I can teach didactic classes as well as continue as a clinical instructor at COD," she said. "I can compare the Dental Hygiene program at COD to the one I started at another school, and COD is by far the best place to learn."
