Student Spotlight: Rory Manion

Rory Manion

Rory Manion
Major: Associate in Arts

Rory Manion transferred from Florida Atlantic University to College of DuPage and wanted to continue her volleyball career.

“Instead of rushing a choice of a new school, I decided it would be best to spend a year or so at COD,” she said. “My experience with COD’s volleyball team was fun! It was a new team, but we were all so happy to be playing the sport we love.”

Manion earned her Associate in Arts degree and transferred to Saint Xavier University, where she continues to play volleyball and is studying Communication in hopes of becoming a school counselor.

“I wanted to choose a career that I will never get bored of doing,” she said.

She definitely recommends College of DuPage and its beautiful campus to any prospective student.

“Most of my classes were relatively small, which made it easy to build that relationship with your classmates and teachers,” she said. “COD helped me meet many goals and find my career through the classes that I took. I was able to play the sport I love so I was excited about that, and I was able to further my education and earn my degree.”
