Mathematics has interested Scott Albert since he was a young child.
“I enjoyed solving logic puzzles and was inspired by the quote engraved at the door of Plato’s academy: ‘Let no one ignorant of geometry enter.’”
Albert has taught college-level math for more than 35 years – at Loyola University, Niles College and, since 1994, at College of DuPage.
“I was inspired to become a teacher by my mother who taught me life’s lessons with patience and was always available to assist with homework,” he said. “I also had inspiring math instructors in both high school and college, and I am inspired by the great mathematicians and my colleagues.”
He wants to instill in his students a love of learning.
“I want them to realize that ‘Mathematics is the essence of all life in the universe.’”
