Kim Oakley (Winfield), Program Advisor, Student Affairs Division
In her role as a program advisor for the Health Sciences area, Kim Oakley works with students interested in health careers to not only develop educational plans for the College’s competitive health care programs but also to continue their studies at transfer schools. She is committed to helping students identify resources within the College that can aid in their success. Her philosophy of advising is shaped in the belief that every student wants to be heard. She treats each student as an individual and each student’s story as a unique one.
Mia Poston (Wheaton), Associate Professor of Speech Communications, Liberal Arts Division
Mia Poston completed her doctorate from the University of Alabama in Communication and Information Sciences. She is an intense supporter of the Speech Assistance Area, helps coach the forensics team and participates on the “Faculty Advice” panel at New Student Orientation. Poston is an advocate of classroom-based advising and uses every opportunity she can to reiterate the importance of seeking early advising prior to the registration dates. She encourages students to be strategic when registering.
