Lifelong Learning at College of DuPage incorporates the best of what enrichment has to offer at any age. We offer a mix of courses, workshops, seminars and lectures designed especially for adults 50 and older, in a wide variety of topic areas. A reduced senior rate applies for participants 55 and over. Come join us - new courses begin each week.

On the Waterfront
Instructor: Gerald Horan
"On the Waterfront" is a 1954 film directed by Elia Kazan. This award-winning film is ranked 8th on the AFI's all-time list. Watch the film and explore its development, the social and political issues involving Kazan and the brilliant music of Leonard Bernstein.

Washington's Lieutenants
Instructor: Tim Dailey
The class analyzes the military strategies and operations of General George Washington and his commanders during nthe American War of Independence. Examine Washington's strategic genius, his operational initiatives, and his relationships with subordinates such as Greene, Arnold, Lafayette, Gates and many others. Their campaigns, battles and decision-making abilities during the conflict will be a focal point of the class.

The Philosophical Ideas and Writings of Bertrand Russell
Instructor: Marcus Sanghera
He was Britain's ubiquitous thinker and philosopher of the 20th century. Logician, mathematician, historian, writer, social critic and political activist, Bertrand Russell made a mark on the world of critical thinkers still felt and enjoyed today. In this graduate seminar-style class, historian Marcus Sanghera discusses the writings of Bertrand Russell, one of the founders of analytic philosophy. (Class participation required)
