Students must be currently enrolled in the developmental or college-level credit course
for which they are requesting a tutor. Services are provided during the academic term
for which students are enrolled.
Complete the Tutoring Request Form using Firefox or Chrome. (Internet Explorer will not work.) Students can have three
50-minute appointments per week.
Tutoring provides "Drop-in" sessions for a variety of subjects like Chemistry, Math, Accounting, A&P, and Foreign
Languages where no appointment is needed. We also offer Strategic Success Sessions for study skills help. All services are free!
Most sessions take place in the Learning Commons - SRC 2102. Some may occur elsewhere
on the Main Campus or at the COD centers. We also have online tutoring for select
subjects using "Ask a Peer Tutor".
Tutors can clarify points from lectures, labs, discussions, or assigned readings.
Tutors will show students how to become independent learners; however, tutors cannot
complete homework for students or grade assignments.
Come prepared. Bring your syllabus, textbook, notes, and any questions you have. Tutoring
is most effective when you are prepared.
Tutors work with Accommodations Specialists to personalize their services for students
with disabilities who have documentation of the disability on file in Center for Access and Accommodations.
Yes, they are amazing and proficient in their subjects. They know their stuff!
