Career Information

Sonographers work in a variety of settings, including clinics, hospitals, physician offices, public health facilities and laboratories. This dynamic field is expected to grow 14 to 20 percent by the year 2020. Entry level sonographers in the DuPage County area earn about $64,380 (median) annually, according to the Illinois Department of Employment Security. 


College of DuPage offers an Associate in Applied Science Sonography Degree. The 24-month program includes all of the course/lab work and clinical hours necessary for adequate training in General and Vascular Sonography.

*Please note: DMIS 1105 and 1110 are only offered in the Fall & Spring semesters so please plan accordingly.


College of DuPage offers a General certificate and a Vascular certificate in Diagnostic Medical Imaging Sonography.
