Baker Logistics Consulting Services, a Woman Business Enterprise (WBE) certified consulting service for shippers and for supply chain Providers/3PL, specializes in transportation and logistics consulting services. The team at Baker Logistics Consulting has over 100 years of combined experience in international transportation, trade, and customs compliance. President Lauren Pittelli has built a thirty year career helping logistics companies and shippers navigate the unique challenges of international shipping and compliance. Prior to starting Baker Logistics, Lauren held senior roles at leading freight forwarding firms where she managed an excess of $450 million in international freight, customs and contract logistics activity per year.
Baker Logistics Consulting Services began utilizing College of DuPage Illinois PTAC services in the Fall, 2019 as an established logistics consultant looking to expand in the federal government space and become a WBE certified business. They were seeking PTAC assistance to demystify the certification process, register with the System for Award Management (SAM) and the Illinois Procurement Gateway. Ileen Kelly, Illinois PTAC advisor, worked with Baker Logistics on multiple registrations and additionally assisted with competitor research, development of a capability statement and how to search for opportunities through the bid match system and other bid board opportunities.
On July 27, 2020, the client reached out to their advisor because they had an opportunity to respond to an RFP due in 7-days from the City of Chicago’s Public Schools. The advisor was able to secure needed data and outlined the overall guidelines so the client could complete the RFP and met the short deadline. On August 16th Lauren Pittelli notified her advisor with the great news. They won their first government contract and noted that the WBE and SBE certifications were a part of their success.
