Spectrum Technologies, Inc., headquartered in Aurora IL, is a 33-year-old company that develops and manufactures leading-edge plant measurement technology to agricultural, horticultural, environmental, and turf markets around the world. The company serves more than 14,000 customers in over 80 countries worldwide.
After reconnecting with Illinois SBDC International Trade Center at College of DuPage, Spectrum Technologies were introduced to several export support resources that are in line with their goals. In 2021, they were approved for an ISTEP grant for a product certification project to complete CE certification for a strategically important new product line of 3000-series weather stations. The project was completed in the 3rd quarter of 2021. International sales of the new generation of weather stations to date have reached 6 figures and are expected to be more than triple in 2022.
“Illinois SBDC International Trade Center at College of DuPage has been a valued partner for Spectrum Technologies for many years,” adds David Lau, Director of APAC and Business Development at the company. “In addition to our recent CE certification project, we have utilized SBDC services to support our participation at major international trade exhibitions, and for B2B match-making initiatives to identify new channel partners in under-represented markets. Their expertise and guidance have been instrumental in helping us to expand our export sales internationally.”
