As a mother of four children who works full time, College of DuPage student Courtnie Vura emphasizes the positive impact scholarships have on students, allowing them to focus more on their education than finances.
“If I can do this, then anyone can do it,” she said during the annual College of DuPage Foundation Scholarship Celebration. “I never had a professor who didn’t see me as a person and want to help me get the job done.”
The event recently brought together scholarship recipients and donors to meet during breakfast and share their stories. Click here to view photos from the reception.
This year, the College of DuPage Foundation awarded more than 500 scholarships totaling more than $600,000. Earl Dowling, Vice President of Institutional Advancement at College of DuPage, praised the Foundation for its hard work and the many donors for their generosity.
“Our Foundation Board of Directors are all volunteers and their dedication to this College and our students is inspirational,” he said.
