With more than 70 years of combined experience, Ellen Roberts, Scott Brady and David Virgilio have assumed interim administrative assignments as Vice President for Administrative Affairs, Chief Finance Officer and Treasurer, and Controller, respectively.
The assignments, effective Jan. 1, come on the heels of the appointment of Dr. Brian Caputo, former Vice President for Administrative Affairs and Treasurer (CFO), as the College’s interim president.
“College of DuPage has a strong, experienced team handling operations and finances during this transition phase,” Dr. Caputo said. “Ellen, Scott and David have a firm grasp on the College’s day-to-day workings. They understand fiduciary responsibility and are well equipped to exercise the administrative oversight needed to further the institution. Furthermore, they are completely dedicated to serving the College’s faculty, staff, and students. College of DuPage is in good hands.”
Roberts has nearly 40 years’ experience in administration, both in the private sector and higher education. She earned her Associate in Arts degree from College of DuPage, a Bachelor of Science degree from Elmhurst College and an MBA from Benedictine University, where she graduated as a member of the Sigma Beta Delta Honor Society. Past positions include Regional Administrative Services Manager for 3M company where, during a 28-year career, she oversaw six sales offices in five states that supported 3,000 sales personnel and the client and customer communications center. Roberts joined the College in 2008 as the Campus Services Manager and became Director of Business Affairs in 2012, overseeing the Purchasing, Conference and Events Services, Campus Services, the bookstore, and dining services functions.
Brady has more than 25 years of accounting, finance, governance and compliance experience in higher education, governmental agencies and multiple companies, both public and private, including a top-four accounting firm. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Loyola University of Chicago and an MBA in Finance and Marketing from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, as well as completing the Executives in State and Local Government Fellowship Program at Harvard University. Past positions include Corporate Controller and Chief Financial Officer for California Water Holdings, Ltd., Manager of Restructuring and Reorganization Services at Ernst & Young LLP, and Chief Financial Officer and Deputy Chief Financial Officer for the Chicago Housing Authority, for which he oversaw an annual budget of $1 billion from the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Virgilio has more than 15 years’ experience in accounting and finance in both the private and public sector. He earned his bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in Professional Accounting from Elmhurst College. Past positions include Staff Accountant for Farm Progress Companies and Senior Staff Auditor for Crowe Horwath LLP. Virgilio joined the College in 2010 as Senior Accountant and became Budget Manager in 2011. He most recently served as Assistant Financial Controller for the College.
