“Images,” College of DuPage’s monthly one-half hour television show, features in its May edition segments on COD Cares’ Fifth Birthday Party, the College’s natural areas, and COD alumna, teacher and Golden Apple winner Lisa Buchholz.

Each month, “Images” highlights the personalities, news and curriculum of a vibrant College of DuPage campus. The show airs on 13 area cable television stations.

May “Images” features the Fifth Birthday Party celebration for COD Cares, the campus-wide program for students, faculty and staff to participate in activities that benefit District 502. Since 2014, 7,000 volunteers have contributed more than 14,000 hours of service. The event included an award ceremony and “Birthday in a Bag” service activity to benefit clients of Humanitarian Service Project.

The show highlights College of DuPage’s natural restoration and preservation areas. COD maintains three natural areas on the Glen Ellyn campus: the Russell R. Kirt Prairie, the Ecological Study Area, and the B.J. Hoddinott Wildlife Sanctuary. These areas are open to the public for nonconsumptive recreational use.

May “Images” also features alumna and Glen Ellyn teacher Lisa Buchholz, who received the prestigious Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching and Leadership. Buchholz decided to pursue a career in teaching after taking an early childhood education class to fulfill a general education requirement at COD.

Images airs at various times on cable television stations in Downers Grove, Wheaton, Addison, Elmhurst, Glen Ellyn, Naperville, Glendale Heights, Bartlett, Lemont, Elk Grove, Darien, Aurora and West Chicago. Check local cable listings for times and channels.
