The Continuing Education program at College of DuPage is offering programs designed to provide enhanced learning opportunities and career information to high school students this summer on the College’s Glen Ellyn campus, 425 Fawell Blvd.
COD’s Summer Speech Camp is a two-week program held 1 to 5:30 p.m. on Monday to Thursday, July 8 to 18. Participants will gain a strong foundation in three elements of competitive speaking: public speaking, oral interpretation and limited preparation events. Open to both novice and varsity competitors, the camp will help students learn event fundamentals, develop written and oral communication skills, and provide the opportunity for team building. The program will culminate in a performance showcase where students demonstrate their knowledge and skills.
The College’s Career Academy provides the opportunity to delve into a variety of exciting and inspiring career paths, giving participants a head start on identifying career and educational paths. Classes take place throughout the summer and include topics such as artificial intelligence, computer architecture, crime scene investigation, cybersecurity, electronics fundamentals, improv, IT administration, photography, robotics and video game design.
The College’s Youth Academy provides young learners the opportunity to explore, develop and grow to their maximum potential through programs geared toward preschool, elementary and middle school and high school students. Offerings include fun and challenging day camps, educational enrichment programs, high school career exploration and college success series, and talent search courses for gifted students.
The Continuing Education program at College of DuPage offers a variety of credit and non-credit courses, classes and workshops that provide learning experiences through a broad range of disciplines in personal development, professional advancement or life enhancement.
