The College of DuPage Veterans Services office invites students, staff, faculty and community members to honor current and former members of the military as part of Veterans Day festivities Monday, Nov. 11, in the Student Services Center Atrium on the Glen Ellyn campus, 425 Fawell Blvd.
Free and open to the public, the College’s commemoration features a half-day of activates from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., including a presentation of the National Anthem, a Colors Ceremony and an armed forces exhibition.
In addition, the 13th annual Veterans Day Read-In will take place from noon to 1 p.m. in the Student Services Center, Room 2201. The event will feature short presentations by volunteers who will read excerpts from their favorite texts from war and military literature, including poems, short stories, essays, memoirs and public or private letters. Readers may also share personal stories, memories and photos to honor veterans who have impacted their lives.
