Free Assistance With Federal/State Electronic Tax Filing Begins Feb. 8 at COD

College of DuPage is offering free assistance with electronic filing of state and federal tax returns.

Sessions are held on from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays, now through April 11 (no session held April 4), in the Seaton Computing Center, located on the College’s Glen Ellyn campus, 425 Fawell Blvd. Additional times and locations are from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 23, at the College’s Westmont Center, 650 Pasquinelli Drive; 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, at Park View Elementary School, 250 S. Park Blvd. in Glen Ellyn, and at the College’s Addison Center, 301 S. Swift Road; 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 8, at the College’s Carol Stream Center, 500 Kuhn Road; and on Sunday, March 15, at the College’s Naperville Center, 1223 Rickert Drive.

A drop-off service is also provided at the following dates and times: 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, March 11 and 18, in the Berg Instructional Center, located on the Glen Ellyn campus; 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, Feb. 12 and 26, at the Carol Stream Center; and 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, Feb. 19 and March 4, at the Westmont Center. Through this service, participants can drop off their documents and have their returns completed in one week.

Internal Revenue Service (IRS)-Certified COD Accounting students, under IRS-Certified instructor supervision, prepare and electronically file state and federal returns for students, staff and community members. Participants must bring all 2019 pertinent tax information, the previous year’s return (2018) and banking account numbers if they would like to receive their return via direct deposit.
