Volleyball players hoist trophy after win.

The College of DuPage women's volleyball team hosted the Delta College Ducks for the Great Lakes District Championship and won the match 3-0 (25-15, 25-15, 26-24) to claim its second straight district title.

The victory earned the Chaparrals an automatic bid to the NJCAA Volleyball Championship, scheduled for Nov. 13 to 15 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

A balanced attack led COD to the sweep, with three Chaparrals recording at least five kills. Claire Rambasek led the way with seven, while Megan Daca and Ella Petruczenko each added five. Rambasek also paced the team in service aces with five, while Daca closely followed with four. Jaime Volz led the Chaparrals with 11 assists and Ava Diaz contributed eight. Frankie Brandonisio led the team in digs with 11, while Daca and Isabella Furmanski each added three block assists at the net.

The win gives COD confidence heading into its trip to Iowa, said head coach Tolis Koskinaris said.

"Our team came out determined with their serve-and-pass game to really put a lot of pressure on Delta," he said. "Claire Rambasek in our setting did an exceptional job. Our blocking and net play were stellar, and that third set, our team coming back from down five showed they have the willpower to make a deep run in Iowa."

COD is currently awaiting the NJCAA bracket release, which will take place Tuesday, Nov. 4, via the NJCAA Network and the NJCAA Volleyball X account.
