The College of DuPage women's volleyball team won the Region IV Championship on Oct. 29, defeating the Wolves of Joliet Junior College 3-0 (25-22, 25-23, 25-13). It's the second consecutive year the Chaparrals have earned the Region IV title.
Head coach Tolis Koskinaris was proud of his team's energy and preparation.
"Our group did a nice job meeting the moment with both effort and preparation," he said. "Joliet came out strong. We were able to side out with them until we got in our rhythm. I'm proud of our team. (It's) hard to play an opponent four times in one year and earn positive results after each encounter."
Claire Rambasek led the Chaps at the net with 13 kills. Ava Diaz was the leading setter with 13 assists. Frankie Brandonisio led defensively with 20 digs, while Megan Daca and Ella Petruczenko each contributed a solo block.
The Chaps will return to action on Saturday, Nov. 1, at 6 p.m. to host Delta College (Michigan) for the District Championship. If victorious, DuPage will earn an automatic bid to the 2025 NJCAA Division III Championship at Alliant Energy PowerHouse Arena in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, from Nov. 13 to 15.
