Description of Organization
Marklund is a nonprofit organization that serves infants, children, teens and adults with serious and profound developmental disabilities and special healthcare needs. With three residential locations located in Bloomingdale, Elgin & Geneva, Marklund is home to nearly 174 clients. Our Bloomingdale campus has 21 residents at our Philip Center and over 60 students from the community attending our day school which offers Multi-Needs and Life Skills programs for children and young adults with multiple medical needs, and those diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum.
Description of Service Learner Role
Participate in various scheduled group activities with clients at the Marklund Philip Center such as: games, adapted sports, reading, crafts, and more. Volunteers also needed for community outings to various places such as shopping, movies, parks and bowling. Opportunities at our Marklund Day School include participating in classroom curriculum/daily activities with our students
