Description of Organization:
Giving DuPage is a nonprofit volunteer center, whose mission is to promote giving and volunteering throughout DuPage County. Our main role is to connect volunteers & donors with local opportunities to give back. Our goal is provide crucial volunteer and other capacity-building resources for local nonprofit organizations. Giving DuPage achieves its mission through various programs and services, such as the Volunteer Opportunity Portal, DuPage Human Race and our Volapalooza event.
Description of Service Learner Role:
Giving DuPage is launching a year-long, countywide initiative centered on public service and in-kind giving from 2016 to spring of 2017. This campaign is a public engagement campaign asking everyone across DuPage to achieve macro-impact outcomes.
- Student must be serious about his/her commitment, as this is a large countywide campaign, dependent on all available staff and volunteer resources.
- Service learner must be available to meet with and report progress at the Giving DuPage office, on a set schedule determined by both student & Giving DuPage.
- Service Learner must complete necessary paperwork, as defined by DuPage County Security & HR departments, as Giving DuPage is a public-private partner of DuPage County.
