Academic Advising Services

Summer 2021 - June 2 through August 17

The Counseling, Advising and Transfer Services department will offer advising services and appointments in a variety of formats this summer. Please note that our front desk staff is available by phone Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

  • Limited in-person appointments for New and Continuing Students in good standing (above a 2.0 cumulative GPA): 

Glen Ellyn/Main Campus

  • June: Mondays (10 a.m. to 7 p.m.) and Wednesdays (9 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
  • July/August: Monday - Thursday (8 a.m. to 7 p.m.)
  • Please call (630) 942-2259 to schedule all in-person appointments.
  • Absolutely no walk-ins will be accepted. You will need an appointment confirmation to enter the building.

COD Centers

  • In-person appointments are available on Saturdays only, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (availability at each Center may vary)
  • No walk-ins will be accepted. Please schedule your appointment by calling (630) 942-2259, or by calling one of the Centers directly.

Remote Virtual (Zoom) or Phone Appointments 

  • Appointments are available on a very limited basis during peak times (July/August).
  • These appointments are designated for probation/suspension students, personal counseling, career counseling, 3+1 and transfer planning.
  • Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Friday and Saturday hours vary

Virtual Advising for New and Continuing Students in Good Academic Standing (Virtual Advising Lab)

  • Click “Virtual Advising Lab” button on the right side of this page for information and access.
  • Available Monday through Thursday, 10 to 11:30 a.m. and 4 to 5:30 p.m.

E-advising

If you book a virtual (Zoom) appointment, you will receive an email invitation via your COD email prior to your appointment. Please be advised, any phone calls coming from a COD counselor or advisor may appear as an unknown number.

Make An Appointment

Call the Counseling and Advising front desk staff at (630) 942-2259 to schedule a New Student Appointment. BEFORE CALLING:

  • You should have already viewed the entire Steps to Enrollment process on the student portal.
  • BE SURE you have either submitted your ACT/SAT scores or you have completed the Guided Self-Placement Questionnaire for Reading and Writing, which can be accessed on the Student Planning page through the student portal at inside.cod.edu. This will enable the counselor to assist you in selecting appropriate courses.
  • You may also wish to complete the ALEKS math placement test if you need to determine which math class you are qualified to take.
  • DO NOT use the online booking system to schedule your appointment. Doing so will result in your appointment being canceled.

  • Continuing students in need of educational planning and academic advising may call the Counseling and Advising front desk at (630) 942-2259 or use the online booking system to schedule a 30-minute appointment.

  • Call the Counseling and Advising front desk at (630) 942-2259, or use the online booking system to schedule a 60-minute appointment.

  • Call the Counseling and Advising front desk at (630) 942-2259.
  • You will receive instructions on how to complete the academic probation programming.
  • DO NOT use the online booking system to schedule your appointment. Doing so will result in your appointment being canceled.

  • Call the Counseling and Advising front desk at (630) 942-2259 to schedule an appointment with a counselor.
  • All communication/reminders with students will be through their COD email address. Please be sure you are able to access you student email account.
  • If you have any questions about scheduling an appointment during this time, please call (630) 942-2259.
