Veterans Day 2019
On Monday, November 11, we thank and honor all who have served our country and preserved its freedom. Veterans Services invites students, staff, faculty, and friends of College of DuPage to attend the Veterans Day Color Ceremony and the 13th Annual Veterans Day Read-In.
Colors Ceremony 11 to 11:45 a.m. Student Services Center (SSC), Atrium
The ceremony will include the singing of the National Anthem by Erick Flores and Colors Ceremony led by College of DuPage student Veterans. College of DuPage President and Army Veteran, Dr. Brian Caputo will deliver the keynote address. COD staff and faculty that served our nation's military will also be recognized.
13th Annual Veterans Day Read-In 12 to 1 p.m. Student Services Center (SSC), Room
The Veterans Day Read-In will feature short presentations to honor Veterans. Participants are encouraged to read excerpts from their favorite texts from war and military literature, such as poems, short stories, essays, memoirs, public or private letters, or to share a personal story, a memory, or to show pictures to honor a Veteran they know.
Armed Forces Exhibition 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Student Services Center (SSC), Atrium
Armed Forces Exhibition will feature uniforms and regalia from all branches of the military.
