The Suburban Law Enforcement Academy (SLEA) is committed to providing the highest standard of training to law enforcement and public safety agencies. With a steady eye on regional, national and international developments, SLEA fulfills its mission as an educational source for all law enforcement agencies in northern Illinois and beyond. However SLEA cannot rest on its laurels, but must be the leader in developing new ideas and training curriculum for the public safety professional. SLEA is extremely proud of the solid reputation that it has built in the law enforcement community from the dedicated hard working staff and instructors.

History of SLEA
The Suburban Law Enforcement Academy (SLEA) was established in 1994 at the recommendation of the DuPage County Chiefs of Police Association which identified the need for a police academy in DuPage County to meet the unique training needs of suburban departments in northern Illinois.
Mission Statement
Suburban Law Enforcement Academy (SLEA) delivers high quality basic law enforcement recruit training utilizing evidence-based instructional methods which exceed standards set by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board, preparing recruit officers for safe, successful careers in law enforcement. SLEA supports local police agencies in a collaborative relationship by graduating recruits who exemplify integrity, exhibit high competence, embrace continuous improvement, and demonstrate a drive to serve.
