Belonging at COD

College of DuPage values the innovation, creativity, and strength of our college community. We believe our collective success stems not only from the talents and skills each of us brings, but also from the unique perspectives shaped by our varied experiences. We are committed to fostering a culture that supports unity, personal growth, and collaboration, creating an environment where students, employees, and the broader community can thrive together as "One COD."

At COD, we are proud to offer a wide range of programs, resources, and opportunities designed to enhance both the student and employee experience. We believe a strong community is one that works toward mutual understanding, even in the face of differing viewpoints, and we provide tools to help us achieve that shared purpose.

Through our collective efforts, open dialogue, and commitment to excellence, we are intentional in cultivating a culture of care that supports the success of our students and employees alike. This dedication reflects the best of who we are and reinforces the foundation of our diverse college community.

Dr. Nevien Shaabneh

At College of DuPage, we are more than a collection of departments and individuals. We are a community united by a shared purpose to empower our students and shape a brighter future. Every role, every effort, and every conversation we engage in contributes to this larger purpose, and together, we are the architects of change.

Organizational development is not just about processes and strategies; it’s about people. It’s about fostering an environment where collaboration thrives, where trust is built, and where every voice feels valued. Bridge-building isn’t just a concept; it’s a practice we must embrace daily by creating pathways of understanding, breaking down barriers, and finding unity in our shared mission.

At COD, our students are at the heart of everything we do. They are our “why,” and their success is our collective goal. As we move forward, may we continue to lead with empathy, seek common ground, and lean into our potential as a unified community.

Support for Students

College of DuPage is committed to greater equity, diversity and inclusion of underrepresented populations in our campus community through the development of proactive, strategic, and sustained initiatives.

Respect Inclusion Support Equity (RISE) Team

The Respect Inclusion Support Equity (RISE) Team is composed of dedicated stakeholders representing various departments and roles across College of DuPage. Tasked with creating and implementing the College's comprehensive equity plan, the RISE team ensures that student success and equity are embedded in every aspect of college life.

Guided by the ethos of "Rising Together," the team evaluates and refines initiatives to support equitable opportunities and outcomes for all students. By analyzing data, assessing programs, and engaging in strategic planning, we address opportunity gaps, ensure fair access to resources, and create an environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and professionally.

The RISE Team is proud to collaborate with the entire College of DuPage community, working toward a shared vision of student success and equitable opportunities for all. Together, we rise to meet the challenges of today while building a brighter future for tomorrow.
