Major: Associate in Arts
Angel Traub was a working mother who needed to attend a school that was close to home and with flexible class times.
College of DuPage fit those needs and provided her with so much more.
"The Honors Program was a deeply enhanced educational experience," she said. "Also, during the time I attended COD, if you maintained your success in the Honors Program you received a tuition stipend, which I received my entire time attending."
Traub also received a Study Abroad scholarship that allowed her to study the criminal justice system in London.
"This piqued my interest in law and initiated my delve into a law degree," she said.
After completing the Honors Program and earning her Associate in Arts degree, Traub transferred to Northern Illinois University, majoring in corporate communications with a minor in Spanish. The contacts she made at COD wrote recommendation letters and helped her receive a full scholarship at NIU, from which she graduated summa cum laude with a 4.0 GPA.
She then earned her law degree from The John Marshall Law School, where she was selected a John Marshall Distinguished Scholar and was a member of the Order of John Marshall Honorary Scholarship Society. She currently is principal owner of the all-female law firm of A. Traub & Associates in Lombard, Arlington Heights and Wheaton, where she practices primarily in the areas of family law, adoption, estate planning, probate, trust administration, guardianship and real estate.
“I love running my own practice and working, training and presenting in the legal community,” she said.
COD has wonderful faculty and staff who are always ready and willing to assist you in achieving your success.

In 2022, Traub was honored as one of the College’s Distinguished Alumni. For any student considering COD, she said the education received is a great value.
"COD has wonderful faculty and staff who are always ready and willing to assist you in achieving your success," she said. "Make the most of your education and make the biggest impact on your future endeavors by joining a club or a group, seeking career advice or services, and researching possible internships that COD offers. Then stay connected with your professors, advisors, friends, Student Life and Alumni Relations and tell others about your personal rewarding experiences at COD.
"Come back to talk to a student club or class, assist with advice to current students and supply mentoring opportunities. Participate in alumni events. And continue taking advantage of the many COD resources such as the Library, Career Services, the Physical Education Center, the MAC and continuing adult education."
