Ophthalmic Technician Skills Preparation Course

This online instructor-led course will focus on review topics to help prepare for the I-JCAHPO Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) exam. The course focuses on the practical skills that are needed to successfully pass the exam.

Target Audience: Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) who plans to advance their career by completing the I-JCAHPO COT exam.

Prerequisites: Eligible candidates must be at least 18 years of age, holds high school diploma or equivalency. Must be a COA working under the supervision of an ophthalmologist.

ICCB Noncredit Workforce Training Grant

The Illinois Community College Board (ICCB) has allocated funds through Noncredit Workforce Training Grant. It offers support towards a portion of class costs for eligible selected students. This funding will be applied directly to the student’s account. The purpose of this initiative is to increase responsiveness to employer needs and workforce shortages through building capacity and strengthening the impact of noncredit workforce training at community colleges. Application must be submitted by Sept. 13 in order to be considered for the fall semester.
