We’re here to help! Learning Technologies (LT) wants to empower faculty to improve their experience using educational technology. LT works with faculty one-on-one, provides on-demand support, and offers numerous learning opportunities throughout the year.
Services
LT is dedicated to supporting faculty in the use of educational technologies in order to create the student-centered learning environment necessary to deliver high-quality education.
Here are the some of the services we offer:
- Blackboard Support - We offer one-on-one support, workshops and a Knowledge Base with help and FAQs all about Blackboard.
- Course Development - Whether you’re developing a new course or adapting an existing one to an online modality, we can help you every step of the way.
- Media Development - We can help you record, edit and upload short videos using our recording room, or your own device, helping you produce high quality content for your courses.
- Training and Education - LT hosts numerous workshops, courses, and support sessions throughout the year to help you advance your knowledge of educational strategies and technologies.
- Accessibility Support - We support faculty in the use of LMS-based accessibility tools and provide assistance with captioning and document remediation.

College of DuPage is currently in the process of transitioning courses from Blackboard Original to the newer version of Blackboard, Ultra, with full transition to be completed by January 2026.
We have created a webpage with resources to guide you in this process, including links to requesting development shells, training, FAQs and more.

The mission of Learning Technologies is to provide instructional design guidance, teaching and learning technology support and training for faculty and staff that advances student success and empowers our College community to achieve their academic pursuits.
We aim to:
- Remove barriers to student success through the design of accessible and inclusive learning experiences.
- Support College faculty and staff on the effective use of the Learning Management System (LMS).
- Optimize the LMS and integrated tools to improve efficiency in teaching and learning.
- Create, promote, and facilitate high quality professional development and training opportunities for faculty and staff.
- Guide faculty in the design and development of quality online courses using evidence-based standards and industry best practices.
- Provide consultation on the implementation of Regular and Substantive Interaction (RSI) to create enriching digital communities.
- Assist faculty in the development and creation of instructional multimedia.
- Review, evaluate, and support educational technologies and/or software for instructional/academic use.
- Partner with Information Technology.
- Collaborate with Faculty Teaching & Learning, Employee Development Center (EDC), and Adjunct Faculty Support.
