Architecture and Construction Management Programs

Architecture unites art and science to create structures that are economical, functional and safe. From hospitals, libraries and schools to businesses, hotels and residential homes, architects are responsible for the places in which we live, work, learn, meet, play, shop, govern, eat and worship. Rising populations and increasing emphasis on green buildings and sustainable design ensure that architects and construction professionals are in demand by an industry that is diverse, exciting and fulfilling.

COD's Architecture and Construction Management programs provides students with the artistic, technical, technological and theoretical skills they need to succeed in the field. Depending on your goals and interests, you can choose between a number of degree and certificate programs that will enable you to pursue careers and upgrade skills in a variety of disciplines.

Students can take architecture and construction management classes in drafting, building materials, design and construction safety. The Architecture and Construction Management program is offered in three different paths for every interest level: pre-architecture, construction management and technology. Select a program to learn more or contact a faculty member to get started.

“The two-year COD Architecture program offers the best value in the Chicago area. No other community college in the region offers as many articulation agreements and transfer patterns to four-year colleges of architecture.” - Jairo Ortega
