Illinois Nurse Aide Competency Exam

College of DuPage offers a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) course that provides both classroom and clinical education. Following successful completion of this course, you must pass a state registry exam in order to work as a CNA. Nursing assistants/aides working in licensed and or certified skilled nursing facilities, intermediate care facilities and home health agencies in the state of Illinois must be certified.

The Illinois Nurse Aide Testing Program at SIU/Carbondale is responsible for the competency exam as required by the Illinois Department of Public Health. Contact SIU for information about deadlines, fees, the exam and how to register.
