Firm Receives Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago Subcontract Award
Although a newly established firm and recently certified WBE with MWRD, Contigo Engineering was chosen as a subconsultant for a MWRD project, resulting in its first $25,000 subcontract award as part of MWRD’s affirmative action program. The project's scope aligned with Contigo Engineering’s expertise in stormwater modeling, making the collaboration with the prime firm a natural fit. Jenny Loewenstein demonstrated a proactive approach in determining the most beneficial WBE certification to pursue first for her company. She initiated discussions with numerous prime consultants, conducting sales meetings to understand their specific needs where she strategically identified MWRD as a government agency with diversity goals that aligned with her specialized expertise. This approach positioned Contigo Engineering to join the prime's team shortly after obtaining certification with MWRD.
Future Plans For Contigo Engineering

Working with Colleen Sall from the College of DuPage APEX Accelerators Team was exactly what I needed at the time. Her guidance and support gave me the confidence to navigate the unfamiliar territory of DBE certification. It was overwhelming to initially face the mountain of paperwork for certification. Colleen walked me through each requirement, clarifying what was needed and assuring me that success was within reach. Her coaching not only helped me achieve certification but also empowered me to confidently pursue additional certifications. I'm grateful for Colleen's expertise and ongoing support as I continue to grow my small business.
