Students Celebrate Landscaping Design Award Wins

Three College of DuPage Horticulture students took home awards in the annual Landscape Design Competition. 

Students Kelly Walker, Maggie Kurcz and Monica Bernal-Munera earned first, second and fourth place, respectively, in the Hand Drawn Landscape Design category of the collegiate landscape competition, held annually by Landscape Illinois. The competition is open to students at all high schools and two-year and four-year colleges in Illinois. 

The Horticulture program at COD provides fundamental and advanced education and practical training to help graduates successfully enter the workforce. Students can earn an Associate degree in Applied Science degrees in Horticulture, Landscape Contracting and Management, and Sustainable Urban Agriculture as well as nine certificates. Horticulture courses are offered day and night, in-person, hybrid and virtual with more than 60 course offerings.
