Continuing to balance its commitment to providing high-quality educational opportunities with its fiduciary responsibilities to local taxpayers, the College of DuPage Board of Trustees on March 20 authorized a $4 tuition increase for the 2025-2026 academic year.
Tuition and fees will be $156 per credit hour for in-district residents, $359 for out-of-district students and $429 for out-of-state students, beginning with the fall 2025 semester.
A recent Illinois Community College Chief Financial Officer survey found rates will increase from $3 to $10 per credit hour across the state’s community colleges for fiscal year 2026.
College of DuPage Interim President Dr. Christine Hammond said the increase allows the institution to continue to provide academic resources to students amid rising inflation.
“COD, like other institutions, is facing increased operating costs,” she said. “Moderate tuition adjustments help address not only those increases but also the growing needs of our students.”
COD Board Chair Christine Fenne said the College’s emphasis remains on student success.
“While we take this step to ensure our students’ access to resources needed for success, we know College of DuPage continues to be a great value,” she said. “COD’s total cost falls below the state average, and the College provides many scholarships and financial assistance opportunities for those students in need.”
