Professor Brian Brems teaches film studies in the English Department at College of
DuPage. He is the author of "The Films of Walter Hill: Another Time, Another Place"
(2002, Lexington Books) and coeditor of "ReFocus: The Films of Paul Schrader" (EUP,
2020), both projects that focus on directors of the New Hollywood period who have
built legacies as singular artists with definable visions. He writes about film in
online publications and has contributed to numerous edited volumes as an essayist
on subjects ranging from Westerns to horror films.
