Career Services for Students

Career Services can help students with the job and internship search process by equipping them with tools and resources to secure current or future employment and develop connections to local businesses through student experiential programs.

Students can sign up for workshops on resume building, social media, starting a job search, interview preparation and more or schedule an appointment with a Career Services team member.

Schedule an Appointment

To schedule an appointment with the Career Services Center, complete the Service Request Form. Appointments are generally scheduled for one hour sessions.

Student/Job Seeker Cancellation or Missed Appointment Policy

  1. Students who do not attend the first 10 minutes of a 30-minute appointment or 15 minutes of the start of a 1-hour appointment will forfeit their appointment time and will be marked as a no-show.
  2. Appointments canceled within 12 hours of the scheduled appointment will be considered a no-show.
  3. Career Services reserves the right to revoke appointment eligibility for students with 3 or more consecutive no-show appointments. Students will have to wait until the following semester to schedule an appointment but may participate in webinars and hiring events and access online resources such as Chaps Get Hired and Career Coach.

*A semester is defined as the start and end of 16-week classes in the Fall and Spring and 10-week classes in the Summer.

Career Services may experience peak periods throughout the semester in which current students utilize our services. As a result, alums and community member offerings may be limited.

Career Services does not offer walk-in services. Contact the center at csc@cod.edu before coming to campus to inquire about the availability of programs or appointments.

Electronic Resume Review

Career Services can review your resume electronically using VMock SMART Resume. If you are interested in utilizing this service, complete the Job Seeker Request Form.

*VMock Smart Resume is only available to currently enrolled COD students with a valid @DuPage or @COD email address.

Internships

Many College of DuPage students seek internships as a way of building professional skills. Learn more about student internships including the Disney College Program.
