Climate and Equitable Jobs Act Workforce Hub

The Climate and Equitable Jobs Act (CEJA) Workforce Hub Program is funded by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO). The CEJA Program aims to promote trainings for clean energy jobs with a goal of phasing out carbon emissions from the energy and transportation sectors. CEJA seeks to prepare a workforce for future jobs while fostering equitable energy solutions.

CEJA Program Goal 

CEJA Workforce Hub offers free training to prepare people for good-paying clean energy jobs. 

  • Training topics
  • Basic safety/OSHA 10
  • First Aid/CPR
  • Clean energy basics
  • Essential employability skills
  • Work-based learning
  • Weatherization

Certifications

The following certifications are available under CEJA:

  • OSHA 10-hour Construction Certification
  • First Aid/CPR Certification
  • Building Performance Institute (BPI) Certifications–Healthy Home Principles (HHP) and Building Science Principles (BSP) 

Eligibility

Eligible individuals must be 18 years or older, have an interest in a career in clean energy and: 

  • Reside in an eligible community OR have barriers to employment OR be a displaced energy worker OR foster care member or graduate.

Support Services

Support services based on participant need may include:

  • Childcare/family care
  • Transportation assistance
  • Driver education fees
  • Math and reading tutoring
  • Housing assistance
  • Mental health counseling
  • More

Stipend

Receive $13/hour for participation in the training program.
