of DuPage year round.
The COD Massage Therapy program is approved by the National Certification Board for
Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) to provide continuing education for licensed
massage therapists. Classes are held on the main campus in Glen Ellyn in the Student
Resource Center (SRC), Room 1131 and 1125.
Aromatherapy and Essential Oils
Learn how and why essential oils work. Gain foundational knowledge and skills to use essential oils safely and effectively in your personal or professional life. Study 11 essential oils, aromatic techniques and basic layering application methods used in aromatherapy. We will make sprays, inhalers, salts and roll-on applications to take home. 6 CE hours. Intro to Cupping
Gain an introduction to cupping techniques, both traditional Asian and modern Western styles, with time for trying two of the most popular types. Learn about the variety of methods and equipment used for these therapies, so you can make an informed choice for future practice. Students will learn safety precautions, hygiene, contraindications and indications for cupping therapy. In the hands-on portion, students will learn the basics of applying therapeutic cupping using both vacuum cups for stationary work and silicone cups for gliding techniques. Reiki I
Discover the healer within. Reiki therapy is a well-known healing-hands technique that promotes wellbeing in the holistic and medical fields. Reiki means ‘universal energy,’ and all living beings can connect to this life-force energy. In this class, you will be guided to connect and share energy as a vital nourishing holistic practice. Learn traditional and Western aspects of Reiki and discover simple steps to living in harmony with grace and ease. After completing the class, you will receive Reiki I certification, an illustrated manual and your Reiki lineage. 7 CE hours. Instructor: Shannon Chada

Reiki II
Let your inner healer step forth. This hands-on training guides you to be an authentic Reiki practitioner. While exploring Reiki for emotional, mental, physical and social aspects, you will discover energetic communication, learn how to create and maintain a sacred space, and perform a full-body Reiki treatment in a hands-on experience with others. We will discuss how to set up a professional Reiki practice if you are drawn to do so. Reiki Level I is a prerequisite for this level. After completing the class, you will receive Reiki II certification and an illustrated manual. 6.5 CE hours. Instructor: Shannon Chada

Intro to Table Thai
Learn fully clothed compression and range-of-motion techniques adapted from traditional Thai massage. These techniques can be added to your existing table massage routines and build your confidence for performing fully clothed sessions that are effective and satisfying. This one-day seminar introduces you to a sampler of techniques and prepares you for our full Table Thai series. Please bring a bottom sheet and a face cradle cover. Spend a day on your feet! Learn the history and techniques of reflexology applied to the hand and foot with light pressure points.
