Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) Workforce Expansion Grant

The Human Services program is pleased to announce that it has received funding from the Illinois Department of Human Services and the Illinois Certification Board to help students earn their Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) credential.

Beginning in January 2025, the program will offer 10 grant-funded scholarships to support CADC students completing the program.  The awards – which are limited – will cover tuition for two courses, plus books and transportation for spring semester 2025. In addition, the award will cover any cost for course books or materials, as well as transportation to and from campus. Courses must be part of the addictions counselor training found within Human Services.

Funding beyond spring semester 2025 is uncertain and may not be available. Award recipients must agree to work for a state-licensed treatment facility for at least two years once they earn their CADC.
