Most general education courses are taken within the classrooms at the BIC. On every floor, students will find labs, workshops, faculty and departmental offices, conference areas and classrooms. There are also spaces for students to relax and study in a variety of areas.
Connected to the BIC is the Student Services Center (SSC). The SSC houses all student services. At the center of the SSC is Campus Central. This is a one-stop shop for existing and prospective students to interact with:
- Admissions
- Registration
- Financial Aid
- Counseling and Advising Services
- Office of Student Records
- Testing
- Veteran and Military Students
- Cashier's Office
Also located in this building are the COD Board Room, Student Life and activities and a Veteran's Lounge. Within the BIC is the Immersive Visualization Lab and Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality Room.
The SSC is regarded as the College's "front-door." A two-story, spacious glass atrium serves as a central gathering place for current and prospective students and community members who want to study or socialize.
Completed in fall of 2011, the SSC is part of the $111 million Berg Instructional Center and Student Resources Center renovation project funded through proceeds from a successful 2002 capital referendum.
